Meet the experienced and friendly doctors and staff who make Lentsch Eye Care a proud provider of vision care in Ocala.


Dr. Matthew Lentsch, O.D. M.S.

Dr. Matthew Lentsch is a graduate of The University of Houston College of Optometry with a doctorate in Optometry and a Master’s in Vision Sciences and Physiological Optics. He earned his undergraduate degree at The University of Central Florida. He is a licensed optometrist specializing in pediatrics and specialty contact lenses. While at UH, he completed specialty rotations in the Dry Eye Center, Cornea and Contact Lens, Pediatrics, Low Vision, and the Multiple Sclerosis Clinic. He also did externship rotations in San Antonio, Texas at the South Texas VA Hospital and Lackland Air Force Base.

While completing his optometry degree at the UH, Dr. Lentsch became a published author in the journal Ophthalmic and Physiological Optics for his research. He was also featured at the annual conferences for both the American Academy of Optometry and the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology.

Dr. Lentsch and his wife, Kailey, are Ocala natives. They have three children, Owen, Ellie Grace, and Landon. They enjoy spending time outdoors and all things sports-related.
